Not sure what Boston was thinking here, although a team with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce gets better short-term wise, they aren't really thinking about the future. It's possible Boston did this in order to please fans and sell some tickets, after the huge disappointment of not getting Oden or Durant.
Seattle makes a choice to move forward, and look to the future. They get rid of their franchise player, pick up a decent & rather expensive role player in Wally, a young fresh talent in West, & a definite talent in Jeff Green.
I'll give the advantage to the Sonics in this trade.
